The University Signed an MOU with UTS for Further Cooperation
Professor Liang Fanrong, president of the university, and Professor Yao Hongwu, director of the international cooperation and exchange office, were invited to visit the University of Technology Sydney between November 29th and December 4th 2015.
During their visit in Australia, the delegation of our university attended the academic TCM seminar held by the UTS. President Liang gave a keynote speech on the Clinical Evaluation and Biological Study on the Acupuncture Therapy of Functional Dyspepsia, showcasing the Australia TCM counterparts the insight of Chinese research on TCM and the development trend of Chinese acupuncture sector, which laid a solid foundation for future TCM joint-research between the two countries. The delegation visited the Chinese medicine center, research laboratories and super lab in the campus, discussed cooperation details with the UTS management on international science cooperation, and then signed an MOU with UTS. The delegation also met with representatives from the New South Wales Association of Chinese Medicine and Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, and negotiated with TCM research team in the UTS on research cooperation and international science research funding from both countries.
During the visit to Australia, our university has established bilateral links with the UTS on the basis of deeper understanding and cooperation. The MOU will enable the two universities to run student exchange programs and set up a Sino-Australia TCM & Acupuncture center in our university. In the future, the two universities will strengthen cooperation on advantage fields of both sides, work together on funding of Sino-Australia science cooperation projects and encourage mutual visits of scientists from both sides.
